Dear LCFCCP Families,
What a wonderful start to the preschool year we have had! September was filled with new faces and new friendships, and for many of you, a new school!
In October we introduced the wonderful music and garden classes which are such hallmarks of our preschool. The kids have been thoroughly enjoying their weekly music instruction and their bi-weekly gardening lessons, both of which are fully funded by the parent board.
Also in October we saw pumpkins abound, as each student received their own pumpkin, from the Preschool Pumpkin Patch. The students each decorated their pumpkins in a unique manner, and larger pumpkins were used in each class as teaching tools for counting and experimenting. During October we also had our first of many enrichment programs, as the Wildlife Learning Center came to the school for an interactive presentation. The end of the month found us celebrating our first party of the year, Halloween, where a great time was had by all!
Finally, November was filled with leaves and turkeys, and the very important concept of being thankful! We ended the month by putting the Adopt-A-Family tree in the courtyard, where our school families eagerly plucked wishes off of the tree. Gifts have already begun to come in, and the program will culminate next week with the delivery to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. We can’t tell you how amazed and inspired we are by the generous spirit of our preschool!
As we enter the holiday season, the parent board wishes all of you a safe, happy and healthy season. We hope you will enjoy this gift of the preschool tote bag, and that you will find these bags convenient and useful for transporting items to and from school. We look forward to seeing all of you back in January!
